CryptoTag makes one of the best hardware wallet backups, but their complete kit includes not only the backup plat but also a template and punches for filling it out, costing a fair bit. I decided to put together my own 3D printable template using one of their expansion kits and buy some punches off Amazon and see if I could do it myself. This saved me almost $200 off. The result is this design. Note that it isn’t as robust as the one you buy from them - I broke the L insert twice in stamping and had to reprint it. However, I did manage to get my CryptoTag fully populated using it. No pictures of that included because I don’t want to give away my BTC recovery seed ;) If you want the most stress-free, easy experience, it is worth buying their kit. On the other hand, of you are a DIY type person who likes 3D printing stuff then this is a good way to go. Whichever way you go, once you have finished stamping your CryptoTag, you may want to look at the case I created to store it in. **Instructions** The attached design comes in three parts. The frame holds the blank CryptoTag - make sure the "Top" label is at the top of the CryptoTag, with the 24 blank entries on the CryptoTag being face up. Print one of these. There are two inserts, on named Right and one named Left. They have an R and a L embossed on them. Print one of each. You may need to print more because they break if you strike the punch at the wrong angle. For each 4 letter phrase on the CryptoTag, first use the L insert to mark the 1st and 3rd letters, then use the R insert to mark the 2nd and 4th letters. Any regular hammer will do. I put my CryptoTag on a flat 2x4 while stamping it and it worked fine. For punches, I used this set of 3mm letter and number punches from Amazon. There is also a cheaper version that is only letters. If you get other punches try to make sure they are the same size. If you get ones that don't fit message me and I'll try to create inserts for them. P.S. I have no association with CryptoTag other than being a satisfied customer. I researched the options about how to store my backup seed and decided the CryptoTag Thor was the best option available.
