More green parks? More clean air for breathing? Sport and moving at the same time? Your car at home with you, on plane with you? Between cars and bicycles? The end of global warming, bad emissions? No more need for fuel, repairs, taxes? The end of petrol companies, automobile companies, insurance companies, service companies? No more looking for a parking spot? No more traffic jam? The end of obesity? “CtVelo” is a recumbent three-wheel and two-seat bicycle which offers two means of propulsion. It has electric light batteries which are the main leading power. They are supposed to have enough power for a short country trip or driving in the city and not to weight too much. When they run out of electricity the driver can charge them by using the standart bicycle pedals and gears. Actually, the bicycle belongs to “FlevoBike” family, but it’s not real “Flevo” because it has handlebar. Considering the fact, that electricity is the main leading power, using pedals is assumed as a helpful driving ability. In this way, there is no chance the vehicle to leave you on the road. The electrical system is supported by motor and alternator. When driving by electric power, the driver doesn’t use the pedals. If he’s using them, the motor rests, and only the alternator gives back electricity and charges the batteries. “CtVelo” is supposed to weight less than 100 kg. The main advantage of “CtVelo” is that it can be folded and in closed state it takes the space of a wheelchair. By this way it could be put at the home closet or be with you at the office or be taken with you on the plane. So, you won’t look for a free parking spot in the crowded city anymore… and there’s no need to pay for a car rental at the airport. “CtVelo” has steel chassis which gives enough passive safety. For extra safety there are side steel bars which keep passengers from side impact. The folding system is possible thanks to four rotating axles situated in the four directions around the vehicle body. They lock themselves when the bicycle is set and give enough construction safety. “CtVelo” has suspension with springs and disk brakes. It helps for a better comfort when driving. When the bicycle is speeding, the rear track can change its length (it’s done manually). By this way it’s much more stable in high speed. This system uses the advantages of steering rack. In contrast to the construction, the bicycle body is assumed to be very light – it’s made from plastic. Considering the fact that the vehicle doesn’t have any electricity consumers (except lights), there is insulation along with the plastic body panels. In summer bicycle is used with open doors. In winter (if there is no ice on the road or high wind), insulation helps the driver not to be very cold (especially the fact that the inner space is small enough to be warmed by the driver breathing if he’s using the pedals). “CtVelo” doesn't need fuel or parking space. It has simple construction and design and therefore - it's cheap for production and maintenance. It could avoid traffic jams because it’s wide only 90 cm with the short rear track and it’s very stable in high speed because of the long 140 cm rear track. It has enough inner space for two persons with their small luggage and it’s the perfect vehicle for everyday usage or weekend holidays.
