CTC / Flashforge Front Panel Power Switch

CTC / Flashforge Front Panel Power Switch

Quick and easy way to move the power switch to the front where its more convenient. On these clones they switch the AC power to the supply rather then the DC output like on other printers. So i designed a way to add a front panel power switch thats recessed so it can't be accidentally bumped while printing. Installation is easy, you need a 1 1/2" hole saw, drill the hole where you want it, the lower left corner is a good place as nothing is in the way there behind the front panel and there is plenty of space between the power supply and the front panel, then you use the mount as a template to mark and drill the other four holes to mount it. I used 3mm cap screws because i had them on hand, but any machine screw would work, or you could simply use something like a sheet metal screw and screw into the wood panel. The switch is just your standard push in panel switch, 12.5mm wide by 20mm tall. To wire this up make sure the printer is unplugged from the outlet or unplug the cord from the back, then remove the red jumper wire at the power inlet, they used a short jumper to go from the power inlet to the switch, and install the wires to your new switch to the two points that the jumper was installed. This puts your new switch in series with the original. For normal use you turn on the back switch and leave it on, then turn the printer on and off from the added front panel switch. Easy... no wire cutting or splicing! Instructions 75% infill, standard settings.
