The Minimal Surface Problem Involves Determining the Surface with Least Area Given a Boundary Constraint. It's Similar to What Soap Films Do When They Form a Thin Layer Between Two Surfaces. To Illustrate This Concept, I Calculated the Minimal Surface Numerically for a Simple Six-Sided Frame That Spans Two Adjacent Squares at a Right Angle. I Then Used Three Copies of This Frame to Form a Closed Cube-Like Object with a Minimal Surface. The 3D Model Was Designed in OpenSCAD Using Cylinders and Spheres to Create the Mesh. Unfortunately, I Don't Own a 3D Printer, So I Ordered a Print Online and Took Pictures of It.
