A friend of mine makes these epoxy cups and asked if I could build a turning station. She ordered the motors from amazon (just search for cup turner motors). After watching some videos, I didn't like the way everyone was attaching the motor to the PVC pipe so I decided to make an adapter. It simply pushes over the nut of the brass coupling and is secured with an M4x10 screw. The other side of the adapter is tapered just like a normal PVC coupler so the pipe can just be pushed into it without the need for glue.

I also did not like the unfinished look of the hole in the wood on the outside so I created a simple trim ring that covers it up. If you drill a 1" hole for the PVC pipe to come through these can be pressed in (or glued if too loose). It also adds the benefit of allowing the PVC to rotate much smoother than if it was just resting on the wood itself.

Finally I created a simple holder for the top of the turner to insert the PVC pipe when needing your cups to sit vertical and cure. The threaded PVC ends fit perfect and it is very stable.

Tolerances are tight. It was designed that way on purpose. I recommend printing a test first and depending on your printer, you might need to adjust the scale just slightly to compensate.

Added a 3/4" PVC version of the motor adapter and the top holder part.
