This is a custom thumb rest for a jazz bass. It was designed to be a lower profile than the standard thumb rests and match the distance from the E string that the bridge pickup is. This allows for a thumb rest that is like resting your thumb on the pickup. It is ideal for those looking for a position closer to the neck. I designed it so I can have the vintage pickup covers in place. It is designed to mount to existing pick guard screw holes.
