Custom Magnetic spring

Custom Magnetic spring

thingiverse

This DIY project utilizes two cylindrical magnets positioned in opposing magnetic configurations to create a perpetual magnetic spring. The length of the spring can be adjusted based on the strength of the magnets used. Simply insert the magnets and top into the piston and holder, securing them with glue to achieve a functioning magnetic spring. NIB (NdFeB) magnets are required for this project. By repurposing NIB magnets, you can create custom springs without having to purchase traditional ones. The result is a unique solution that solved my need for custom springs when I didn't have any available. Using these magnets, I successfully created magnetic shock absorbers for various toys. Since the dimensions of the parts will depend on your specific magnet measurements, I've developed a customizer tool that allows you to input your own specifications and adjust the design accordingly.
