Custom Maze Posts & Pegs

Custom Maze Posts & Pegs

thingiverse

This project has 3D-printed Wall Posts and Pegs for creating a custom maze that can be used for robotic maze-solving (on the cheap). The walls and floor of the maze are cut from 4mm foam core board. The black lines are 1" black fabric tape that support the use of a line-following sensor or sensor array for movement and turning. The motivation was to provide an easily transportable maze to use in teaching robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The robot pictured in the video is an mBot by Makeblock and the maze is one of the projects in a short eBook I've written titled "A Gentle Introduction to Robotics". (link). The STL files and the 123D Design project are included for easier remixing. All parts were printed in ABS with a 15% in-fill at normal print quality on a Lulzbot 3D Mini using gcode generated by Cura. Note: Although you can use 3D printed pegs, using threaded, flat-headed machine screws and wide washers will be much more durable as the pegs themselves are only 4mm in diameter. The next version of this project will be crafted from MDF and will use metal pegs.
