Custom Perlick Beer Tap Handles

Custom Perlick Beer Tap Handles

As I've had a few prototypes during the process of doing a custom commission for some Perlick tap handles, I decided to include my favourite three versions. The two 150mm tap handles will print completely support free on a Replicator 2, with the 205mm tall one needing support and different alignment. The 150mm tall ones will print standing as they are in the photo. These have all been modified to fit one of two Ez-Lok threaded inserts. The part numbers are 240-6-BR and 240-6-CR (These are the press fit inserts designed to fit a 3/8-16 thread as seen on the Perlick taps). All work is my own. Please tag me if you remix. The insert parts are designed to fit 75x75mm acrylic sheeting, which we use at our local brew club on the taps to write beers on with chalk pens. I think I designed them to hold up to 4mm thick acrylic. My recommendation is to print them in black. Attached photos are of the 150mm tap handles with inserts, which I will be using on my personal setup. And also, RDWHAHB Instructions For the shorter two, print standing upright if your machine is capable of printing at 150mm tall. For the bigger handle, work out the best alignment for your printer. Sand with wet and dry, prime with a filling primer, and paint. Cut acrylic sheet to 75x75mm or slightly smaller, use up to 4? mm thick. I'd personally recommend a contrasting colour to the printed object. Slide insert in, write with a fine chalk pen on it! Use an EZ-LOK threaded insert, push it in, thread it onto the tap. Adjust the tap to face forward. The inserts are designed to dig in once fully threaded on to seal in. For added security, maybe a bit of non-solvent glue around the knurling on the insert to lock it into place.
