This is a customizable bike chain tensioner to fit any bike and chain configuration. Bike chain tensioners are used in mountain biking to minimize the movement of the chain when traveling over rough terrain. This helps ensure the chain does not fall off of the gearing while riding. To create the tensioner open the customizer on Thingiverse and input your desired parameters. To put more tension on the chain, minimize the height of the tensioner. The print was created using PLA. The part cost roughly $0.60 for the current configuration. Depending on size the cost may increase or decrease. The customizable part has a 98.4% reduction in price compared to commercial sales. The current configuration takes about 50 minutes to print.
