I've been using some CD spools from faggahz's design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1136895) and storing them in CD cake boxes. Once you've cut the central spigot from the lid you get a hole, which I've filled with a simple bung. I've added the option of a text note to help sort the cakes for plastic type.
