This stand is designed to hold an iPad or other tablet for the purpose of stop motion animation. One side of the stand has a very slight angle and is for close-up shooting with the camera positioned on the bottom. The other side has a larger angle for medium-distance shooting with the camera positioned on the top. Note: The middle groove looks like a third slot, but it is not intended to be. A future version will fix this confusion. This design has been tested with iPad Air 2 and there is an STL file pre-customized for that thickness. For other devices or to adjust the angle of repose on either side, an OpenSCAD file with easily changeable variables is included. Read the story behind the thing. Instructions I suggest using a product like gripper pads on the bottom to keep the stand from moving around while animating. If downloading an STL file preconfigured for your device, you should be able to just print. I've been using 20-25% infill for a slightly sturdier stand. If downloading the .scad file for customization, the key variables that can be changed per-side are: gAngleOfRepose - The number of degrees that the stand tilts the tablet forward. gMaterialThickness - This is the thickness of your device, or whatever you are holding in the stand, measured in mm. An extra .1 or .2 mm ensures you'll be able to slide the device in without too much resistance. Also, I have found that the larger the angle of repose you use, the more extra thickness you should add to ensure that the tablet still slides in smoothly.
