Recently, our university network has become very unstable. I developed a windows version of the modeling web service. Please, visit http://facebook.com/lithopia for download and further updates. Thanks. JM This is a planar lithophane modeler which gives you more control over the boundary shape and holes. This converts white color (255, 255, 255) to holes. http://maker.dongguk.edu/webclient/freeform_planar_lithophane.html The included sample was 3D printed by PICASSO (http://www.ipchae.com/). Since this model takes only 1 image as input, you can make a free-form planar lithophane easily. The drawback is that the boundary lines are not that smooth. We will present one more model later which takes 2 images as input for better boundary lines. Enjoy! Instructions Upload an image to http://maker.dongguk.edu/webclient/freeform_planar_lithophane.html to generate STL files. I use powerpoint to modify googled free images. If you use image editors like photohop, you will have much more freedom to create lithophanes.
