Customizable Minimalist Wallet (the Viper)

prusaprinters

This is a simple minimalist wallet heavily inspired by Sean Elliott's design and named after the finest military aircraft in the world.

It consists of two covers held together with elastic bands to allow it to expand to hold as many cards as desired. A money clip on the back holds bills in place, or lays fairly flat inside the rear cover when not in use. An optional pocket insert is available for storing non-card items, like coins or, in my case, band-aids because I'm clumsy.

Many aspects of the wallet are customizable, although the most important are the front cover inscription and the depth of the pocket insert. You can print the STL files as they are or make this wallet your own by wading through my obscure and poorly-described customizer options!

Because of the way OpenSCAD imports SVG files, generating your own image for the front cover inscription can be a bit tricky. I've found that, in Inkscape, if I center the design on the lower left corner of the page, OpenSCAD will center it when importing.

Assembling this is simple. The only non-printed parts you will need are two elastic bands (I'm using my daughters' hair ties). Print out all the parts, run both elastic bands through the money clip (there is a slit in the back of the money clip they can be carefully slipped through), fit the covers and pocket insert inside the elastic bands, and then fill with all the cards you can.

I've been using this wallet for several months now and love it. I hope you do, too.
