Customizable Pipette Holder

Customizable Pipette Holder

This is a pipette holder that I made for holding 10 10 ml pipettes. There are slots in the bottom to allow any remaining moisture to drain. These slots also help with air flow to ensure the pipettes can dry out. I provided the fusion 360 file so that you can simply import an stl file and extrude whatever logo or image you like. The picture shown is a pipette holder with my hub's insignia, but the STL file included is only a blank slate. I designed this to print without need for any support. The pencil holder should be printed with the two slots on the print bed. Simply print the holder and 4 feet, and then glue the feet to the main body of the pipette holder. I personally just use some 3M adhesive for my parts, but there are several other adhesives that will work just as well. If you print using ABS you can coat the feet and the locations you intend to attach them to on the base with acetone to make them bond. I find that the easiest way to create my logo STL file is to trace the logo or image I want in Inkscape and them import the resulting STL after the picture has been removed into my modeling software. I typically just find a font that's close enough to whatever is used in the logo for the text and convert it to paths to save time.
