Customizable RAM Mount Phone Clip

Customizable RAM Mount Phone Clip

This is a two-piece phone cradle designed to attach to RAM brand mounting hardware. I bought a custom-fit cradle for my previous phone as well as windshield and handlebar mounts. This design comprises a pair of clips that can be bolted to a spare twist-lock mounting plate to use a new device with existing mounts. Version Variations I printed a couple iterations of the design to test different options. Some of the pictures show these different versions. The final version has no side grips and sandwiches the horizontal clip securely between the vertical clip and the mounting plate. Possible Improvements For me, this design does the job as-is. However, some features are not yet truly customizable. Here are starting points to tackle if you want to make a remix: Customizable cutouts. The "iPhone Tweaks" button/flash/connector holes are currently hard-coded and could be consolidated with a single parameterized cutout module. Customizable flex ridges. Like the iPhone feature cutouts, the size and position of the ridges in the vertical clip are hard-coded. Ideally they should automatically adjust to suit dimensions. Instructions I printed my copies (including several test versions) in brown PLA on my Printrbot Simple with 0.3 mm layer height, 2 perimeters, 3 top/bottom layers, and 0.2 honeycomb infill.
