Customizable Tent Spike

Customizable Tent Spike

thingiverse

This is a simple open-source parametric tent spike to be used to hold a tent or anything else you need to keep on the ground out in a field. We are using them to test different prototypes of small-scale portable solar photovoltaic racking designs....coming soon. This component is part of an open source lab library, by the Michigan Tech's Open Sustainability Technology Research Group. Instructions Choose dimensions that will fit on your print bed using the slider. This thing can be printed flat or on its hammer pad. If flat ensure you have a good substrate for adhesion as long solid parts like this have a tendency to curl on dirty surfaces. I recommend relatively large infill percentages. Unless you have special needs I recommend only changing the height with the slider in customizer as some of the mixtures of the other variables will be unusable. Thanks to Halley for improvements in the design. Thanks to cymon's tent/hose spike for inspiration. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:89345
