Cutting Guide - PTFE Tube - Ender 3

Cutting Guide - PTFE Tube - Ender 3

cults3d

A cutting guide for both PTFE and Capricorn tubing, for modification on the hotend of Ender 3, Pro and 3V2 machines. Personally the cutting guides I downloaded did not work well for me, that led me to make one of my own getting clean and straight cuts, which is important in this hotend modification. The tube length should fit you at 31.4 mm. If you see that it does not fit when inserting the tube in the hole of the cutting guide, probably there is print residue inside, just rub a screw of similar diameter (or a file). I emphasize that the tube should be slightly tight, not loose. I have also uploaded the retaining or locking ring to be placed between the fitting and the piece of Capricorn to be cut. Additionally a sleeve to be attached to a piece of filament (85 mm long). I usually use it on the extruder mechanism, between the sprocket and the grooved pulley to avoid direct contact between these elements during maintenance and cleaning of the machine. I have also used it for the alignment of the Capricorn piece, retaining ring and the fitting, at this point I advise lining the filament with a piece (50 mm long) of cellophane adhesive tape (the one for school use, 1/2" wide), that way it increases the final diameter and everything is better aligned. It is not advisable to make modifications to new machines. until they become more familiar and knowledgeable about their operation, or produce their first hotend failures.
