Here is my thesis which I wrote at the University. Original is Estoninan language but I translated SK.xls (Excel Macro) into English. You can build different sawing patterns for a log and can analyse and optimize what is the best log diameter for the cutting patterns. I linked excel file 3D model but you can use only excel also because there is 2D graphic support Original version SK EST.xls was linked to Solid Edge file SK3D.par where you can see 3D log shape. I upgrade this file and SK ENG are linked now Inventor 2016 3D model. As the parameters of the cutting pattern are being modified is also 3D shape changing in parallel. In Inventor you must save xls first and then update inventor file. For using this program you have to enable Macros in Excel Every time if you moves next excel cell macro refresh 2d image. Be patient It is a little bit slow . Excel file has read only password protection in case if someone should accidentally delete some of formula. But When you use Inventor then you must insert password "saekava" otherwise you can not save xls and 3d model will not update then. Solid Edge version SK EST.xls works without saving in real time.
