This statue showcases a seated mature woman: Cybele, the revered Oriental Mother Goddess. She's adorned with a mural crown fashioned after a city wall. Originally, she stood atop a tambourine-style drum, while a lion proudly stood beside her. Cybele was deeply revered in Greece and later in Rome as well, where she was known as Magna Mater.
