Cycloid Style Extruder Indicator / Visualizer

Inspired by the Nextruder gearbox, I created this visualizer. The extruder indicator looks very similar to a cycloid gearbox, although it is actually only a half one. Google it, it's an interesting concept! The middle part rotates normally with the motor while the ring around runs in an eccentric movement slowly in the opposite direction.

The outer part is simply clipped onto the motor, remember that the motor can get over 60°C warm. So use at least PETG for this.
For the connection to the motor you need a magnet with the dimensions 6x3 or 8x3mm. As you can see on the photo, this magnet is attached off-center on the small raised part with a small piece of double-sided tape.

I have a MK3s but I know that other motors can be slightly different in their construction. On the MK3s motor, the outer part should snap into place easily thanks to the small detents. If you have a different motor I' ve uploaded a version without those latches so you can use double sided tape as well. I measured 12.7mm to the edge where the part snaps onto the motor.

For me, the visualizer has now worked for several hours without any problems, since the connection to the motor shaft only takes place via the magnet, you don't have to worry about anything happening to the printer in the event of canting.

Edit:

I accidentally uploaded an outdated version of the middle part which is not centered correctly. This is now fixed, so the first 6 downloads don't have the correct file.

I added a flat version of the outer part in case the others don't fit on your motor and you just want to attach it to the front with some double sided tape. Make sure the part is perfectly positioned.

I added an alternative version of the outer part. This one looks slightly lighter.

If you like check out my other designs too!

Note: Since the question came up recently, the license states that you may not use this model commercially. For me it's ok if you show the photos or the model to your audience, even if you make money with it as long as you name me as the creator and link to this page. You are not allowed to sell the files or the printed model itself.
