Monolithic structures, for instance, can be constructed in segments and later assembled, or built entirely in one piece. Exterior designs may differ significantly. They're anchored to a foundation to prevent them from being swept away by strong winds; it's unwise to build wooden homes where high wind velocities are predicted. The windows can be shielded with panels automatically if necessary.
