Cyclone dust separator / vortex filter

Cyclone dust separator / vortex filter

Although this cyclone filter has been designed from scratch the initial idea came from a separator I saw here on thingiverse made by jaykoehler. I needed a version which could withstand a lot of abuse for onsite building work. It is optimized for a 5 layer perimeter and can be securely fastened with 6mm nuts and bolts. Prints perfect without supports. It works really well. I designed it to the maximum size my printer could print. Inside I designed a spiral start so that dust is immediately sent in the right direction. I also designed screw in connectors since we use this filter with a lot of different vacuum cleaners with different diameter hoses. So we just need to print a screw connector with the right diameter and don't need to reprint the complete filter. I will put a source file of this connector online so you can adapt it to your needs. Alternatively you can download a conical connector designed by doobedoobedo which will fit various size hoses. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2083622 Print Settings Printer: Felix 3.1 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.35 Infill: 10% Notes: Optimized for 5 layer perimeters.
