cyclonic air filter

12-stage cyclonic air filter, intended mainly for my small diesel engine. roughly 600mm^2 intake area. probably suit 100-600CC industrials. maybe bigger? could be used as a vacuum cleaner or air filter on other types of engine or alternate uses. not exactly sure on its micron cutoff... i cant measure that small! anyway, i got the taste of dust but no gritty bits when i tried one of the small cyclone stages. so, fairly effective. maybe someone can do an analysis? dimensions in MM intake 5x10 air outlet 8 dia. x 20 long dust outlet 8 dia. main chamber 20 dia x 31 long conical section 20 taper to 8 over 43 long x 12.... also included the initial testing cyclone stl's...though i went and changed things when i stuck them all together, so they arent quite the same as whats actually inside now. if its not perfectly obvious, the nozzle on the cap is the outlet, the central hole is the intake. whilst cyclones can deal with water, if its going to deal with water, it may be an idea to give it some type of lid to stop water getting in. dont bother with the 10 stage design, unless you intend on tweaking it. dont think i ever finished it, and obviously changed the layout drastically after some careful thinking! suits a 500mL tupperware container, 116mm diameter (internal at rim) with M6 retaining stud/thread (or 1/4" for you americans) only just printed...yet to test the complete assembly with a vacuum cleaner, a clean handkerchief and a handful of dust.... fingers crossed, huh? i put a lot of effort into these designs, ensuring they are manifold and are actually printable before posting. whether they work is another matter entirely !:p any signs of appreciation gratefully accepted ...paypal me a beer! headsmess@gmail.com
