Another design for the CR6. A bracket made to dangle your extruder from the frame, still more similar to a bowden style setup but feeds filament like a direct drive setup. You'll need a 1/8" NPT die to clean up the thread for the tube fitting. Tube is either 6mm OD 4mm ID PTFE or 1/4" polyethylene tubing. A smaller 4mm OD ptfe tube can be put intside of that tube. The spring and metal washer on the strain gauge isn't necessary, but it can help to maintain the hotend from flexing too much during printing. Adjustment is necessary for the strain gauge sensitivity. The metal wash may need to be bent slightly if the strain guage isn't flush or it can trigger the sensor when tightening the washer. The spring can be tighten down for more force on the hotend, but it will also require more force to trigger the sensor. So adjustment of the sensitivity of the sensor is necessary. Just be careful removing the ribbon cable, and the PCB connector itself. The retraction keychain thing holds the extruder up, I used a vr cable management steel cable thing. Pull the entire cable out to get the most force, just enough to allow the extruder to go all the way down to the bed position. Parts needed: short 6mm PTFE tube or 1/4" water tubing 1/4" tube connector fitting 1/8" NPT retraction steel cable mechanism double sided velcro tape to hold the extruder a short ptfe tube that goes through the velcro and steel cable to run through it. WhY is this mod? IDK Print the bracket with a stronger filament so it doesn't flex. When tapping the thread with the die, make sure to use a vise or clamp to hold the sides so it doesn't crack at the layer line.
