I <strike>have</strike> HAD a Cobra dash cam (Model CDR855BT) that came with a suction-cup mount to be used on the windshield glass. It would sometimes stay attached for up to a few weeks at a time but then I'd find the camera in the seat or the floor because it got a little warm and the suction-cup just let go. I had had enough of that so I made this. **Then, before I actually got to mount the camera in the car using this clip, the suction-cup failed one more time, the camera fell off the windshield, and stopped working.** Soooooooo, if you happen to still have one of these cameras, maybe this clip will save it from falling and breaking, but if you don't, please just buy something else and let Cobra keep their low quality junk. It clips to the mirror post in my Subaru Outback and attaches to the camera with the same thumb-screw + nut that would attach to the suction-cup. If I get some spare time I'll probably turn this into a customizer so it can be tweaked for different cameras and different cars. For now, if it looks like it might work for you, give it a try. I would recommend printing in ABS or some other heat-tolerant material since it is intended for use in a car, and cars can sometimes get pretty toasty.
