On May 30, 2023, only a few weeks after the einstein hat, the spectre was born. The hat needed reflection to tile the plane, and then can only tile aperidically. The spectre does not need reflection to do the same. In fact, reflection must not be allowed, else periodic tilings exist with the spectre.
