Star Wars Death star 2 model * This model is 195 mm in diameter and due to the way it is made with the floor layers, CANNOT be scaled smaller when printing with a 0.4mm nozzle. Due to the scale and details required, this is a lengthy print. The longest of which is the fuller inner half which took 1 day 4 hours to complete. Once printed - do not glue the two inner halves together, these slide into the outershell and cannot move or turn once in place as there is a square key and hole on both ends to keep them there, then the two out shells are glued together at the equator, locking everything together.. I printed in grey PLA The 2 outer shells you really want to look good so i printed this @ 0.2 layer height with 2 perimeters. for these Supports are required The inner shells - i printed at draft quality, so 0.3 layer height, faster speed, and 5% infill and two top layers and 1 perimeter. This to save printing time, if you dont mind long prints then you could make it stronger using more infill and perimeters . For these i never used supports. The stand i printed at 0.2 layer, 3 perimeters, with a 20% infill - it has got to hold the weight of the death star, so i would not suggest anything under this.
