Remixed from this Death Star scaled one in two million by tato_713 on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3432933 Summary I remixed a Star Wars Chess Set by Peter Verduijn (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3249190) and needed an appropriate carrying case for it - seemed like a death star carrying case would be ideal. I used Tinkercad to make tow halves - North and South, and then hollowed out both so the walls were thin enough to maintain detail, but thick enough to remain sturdy. I added a lip to allow the two halves to join them together, and an integrated grid (printed separately) that would hold the chess pieces in each half. These can be scaled up or down - I have printed 2 versions - one at the absolute maximum size my Delta printer would print with a brim to hold it in place (190mm in diameter), and a 155mm one that is still big enough to hold the chess set and 4-piece board. A fun project to work out. I printed using a gray PLA at a .2 resolution (Draft) with 10% infill and a 4mm brim. It is easier to visualize when it is "upside down" However, I get a better print with the large edge on the heated plate. It can probably print with no supports, but I used the "Custom Support" extension in Cura to add a center 20mm cylinder to the center to support the very top of each dome and a small support under the hinge on both halves. Each half takes between 9 and 15 hours depending on the size you are printing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did putting it all together!
