I found an old IR controlled LED strip and some aluminum profiles just sitting around, so I decided to have some fun with them. The aluminum profile used here is an L-shaped one, measuring 20x20mm in size. The RGB controller has been placed inside a printed socket for easy access. As it turns out, the base plate isn't necessary when using a 50cm long profile. Looking at the photos, you can see that the print job had some minor leaks in the shells. I printed these as a quick draft, so I recommend taking your time and printing with three shells and at least 20% infill for better results. To fix any issues with the cover, simply use a soldering iron to enlarge the corners and make them fit snugly.
