Dell E-Port Dock Spacer for Precision 7520

Dell E-Port Dock Spacer for Precision 7520

thingiverse

This is a simple spacer to fit between a Dell E-port docking station and the later supported machines with dock ports right at the back. Specifically this spacer was designed to fit behind a Precision 7520 and not obstruct the fan vents, as well as fit in front of the extending part of the dock in order to use less filament and be a faster print. The front has a slight taper, and the two notches on the top are to assist with alignment of the aforementioned Precision 7520 laptop. Obviously other similar laptops also fit - pictured with a Latitude 7450 Function over form on this one, but print it upside down and you'll get a nice top surface finish whatever machine you're printing on. If you print on a machine with a textured bed like the Ender 3 using black PLA then the top surface will come out pretty similar to the textured surface on the Dell dock itself. I printed at 100% infill, but you could print lower, although it barely affects print time or material usage. Also included are the files for a frame-only version with no top to cut down print time and material usage.
