DELL R210II additional 3.5" HDD tray

Hi everyone, I am a big fan of DELL R210ii server. It's a good compromise between size, noise and performance for home automation or virtualization. It's been a long ago that i use the following setup : 1 2.5" SSD drive in place of the CDROM drive, and 2 3.5" HDD, mounted in RAID 1. Time has passed, and now, and i had to increase my storage capacity. I bought 2 HDD just 3 years ago, and i wanted to just add one more HDD. To do that, i've designed a tray for a third 3.5" HDD in place of PCI-E expension board. This tray will work with all 3.5" HDD up to 25mm height. The support is compatible original DELL screws. However, to use the support, you'll have to : - remove the expension board grid ; - remove little blue supports for big hdd (you'll need to unmount the mother board to unscrew supports, look at photos) ; - mount the harddrive inside the tray ; - insert the tray putting the back in expansion grid first. Then, you'll be able to wire the drive using SATA power cables. When the time of closing the server will come, be aware that it will perhaps be a little bit difficult. Keep cool, it will works ! I hope that this thing will be usefull for someone else in this world ! Feel free to like or comment. Regards, Fabien
