The Delonghi La specialista Espresso machine does not let you grind without a portafilter inserted, as it triggers the grinder on with the portafilter tabs. This simple insert alows you to spoof the grinder into thinking a portafilter is installed, and let you grind into any container below as you please. To use, simply put a container below the grinder, put the insert into the grinder slot like a portafilter, and twist. May work on other grinders/machines that use a 51mm (ID) portafilter
