Delta Drill Press Switch Box

Delta Drill Press Switch Box

I bought some drills in an auction and one of them a Delta 17-900 floor drill was missing the switch and box. The switch was easy peasy I used this one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IKV897M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details but you could any variation you'd like that's similar I imagine they all have similar dimensions. The hard part I found out was locating a box similar to the original as it looks to be discontinued. I was able to find a couple others similar boxes here and elsewhere online but they were all quite a bit smaller than mine. The option of scaling it up crossed my mind but none of the holes would line up and I'd spend just as much time fixing it work in someone else's design as if I just created a new one off pictures and my digital caliper. So here it is and it's in service now working good. I designed this in SketchUp (need to get off my rear about learning Fusion better one of these days) so I also included the design file in case someone wants to modify it for their own use. When printing this it was designed to have the back to the bed as seen in the model image. I designed this as best I could to print with no supports and was able to do so. To do that the internal geometry of the lower front (where it says Delta upwards) is at a different angle on the inside than the outside to get it to ~45º. What this does is makes that front section a little thicker. The walls and the cover plate are all 5mm thick, that is much thicker than I normally would design but I wanted this to be beefier i.e. more rugged for the harder environment in a garage setting.
