Revolver 3D scan for Deisgn By Capture. This was 3D scanned with, photogrammetry software,  Autodesk Remake.   A few things about this item: It was left outside for several weeks to attain the rust and strnage white patina it has. This was made with 186 photos taken with a Nikon D3200, and our Tradesbox photostudio. Using embedded mesh editing tools in Remake, we fixed the mesh to seperate the bottom of the trigger from the guard and to smooth out the bottom of the grip. Remake automatically fixed the texture very nicely. We also sliced the model inside of remake to create to halves that would align.   What are we gooing to make with it? Two Things, (A) using it as a Virtual Reality asset for some fun, and (B) designing an awesome 3D printed holster. We will put this into one of our virtual reality projects, maybe a carnival style shooter. Using the 3D model we will use boolean scripts and Fusion 360 to create form fitted 3d printed holster with some safety features. This is an older style revolver with no transfer bar to prevent accidental firing,  a safety holster should trap the hammer and prevent accidental firing from dropping. Secondarily we will try to design the holster to also function as a child safe gun lock with a form fitting hammer and trigger encasement, which should prevent unwanted access to the firearm.
