Desk Extender

Desk Extender

#studentdesignchallenge I designed this desk extender so that it would be easier for me to take notes because I still sometimes use a paper notebook even though I am doing virtual learning and my laptop being right in front of me makes it hard to write especially when my desk is limited in space. The desk extender is made to bring your writing surface out so it is easier to write if you also have a laptop right in front of you. The extender has a hang down so that it is braced against the edge of your preexisting desk and goes back a bit so that your laptop can sit on top to provide a counterweight so something light like a notebook doesn't just tilt the extender towards you. Questions: 1. What issues did you come up against? Planning how I would go about doing this and getting the measurements because I didn't have a tape measure on me 2. If you could redesign this again what would you change? I would probably figure out some way to make pieces to fit together because it cant be printed on mine but that's because its small 3. How would 3D printing help strengthen your design? 3d printing helps strengthen my design because it can be made in once piece if you have a big enough printer which makes it stronger than separate objects. Another way 3d printing helps is that is easily accessible because in a matter of hours anyone can make one.
