I designed this as my entry for the Student Virtual Prototyping Design Challenge. I designed this using Onshape. I designed this in order to help keep me organized and so that I have a clear workspace. My design can fit about 16 pencils or 11 pens per large slot, and 21 sharpies or markers in the middle holes. The phone holder will fit most modern phones, as long as your case isn't too big. I also included a slot in each of the large openings for dividers, to separate your writing utensils. The main issue I encountered during the design process is fitting all of the storage solutions for the phone, note pad, and pen/pencil holders in a relatively small, versatile package that is fairly easy to print. If I were to make a revision to this, I would design it to be smaller in size, more compact, and to use less filament. 3d printing helped strengthen my design by enabling me to make prototypes so that I can see where my designs are flawed, and where I need to make changes. #studentdesignchallenge For those interested in modifying my design to suit them better, the .steps are up now.
