Detatchable skeg for alpacka packraft, based on fcsfin. Serveral sizes included. I found the 13cm version to work best with my Llama, and it really does wonders for directional stability. Recommended 1mm layer height, 90% infill and 5 wall thickness (0.4mm nozzle), and depending of the printer maybe some over extrusion. The fin should be a bit oversize after printing and sanded to a very tight fit in the slot at the base plate. Can be glued but I attached the base plate to the packraft with gorilla tape (slots for that added). Cut the 5 supports on the base plate "quick release" tab after printing. My version was printed with the cheapest chinese ABS money could buy, and all edges strengthened/saturated with superglue. Survived undamaged many summer 2016/17/18 expeditions, with both flatwater and a lot of river kayaking. Expected the "quick release" would knock it of when hit river bottom full speed but it just flexes away, including when hitting the bottom when going sideways. Designed the base plate to break controlled at the upper "bulb" if overstressed (so I recommend carying a spare) but have not happened to me yet. Recommended print settings for use with Oru Kayak (thanks davidleach): 1mm layer height 35% infill and 3mm wall thickness (0.5mm nozzle) This allows it to break easier to avoid damaging the kayak.
