# Important compatibility note # This stock design is a proof-of-concept that was built to be compatible with only one game: *Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades* (*H3VR*). The yaw and pitch of guns in VR differs between games, and can even be different for different guns in the same game. Because this stock is not adjustable, it may not match up to the angles that guns are held at in other games. # About the Detour gunstock # The Detour gunstock for the Quest 2 (clever wordplay ha ha) was my attempt at a minimal gunstock design. It had to satisfy these requirements: 1. **Prints as fast as possible.** I can print a full Detour stock in the same time as it takes me to print one controller grip/holder for the most popular gunstock designs. 2. **Must be usable without removing controller hand straps.** I like my silicon grips and hand strap so I don't want to remove them. I also find that PLA has a strange smooth-slick texture when my hand gets sweaty during play, so I wanted a design that didn't require printed grips. 3. **Controllers offset so the top is accessible.** Guns in H3VR need more fiddling on top than guns in other games. I didn't want the stock to be above the controller where it may get in the way. 4. **Free-floating front hand.** The front hand must be free to reload, grab objects, etc. I borrowed the [NoobTube stock's](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4632183) idea of just grabbing onto part of the stock to push down the Grip button.
