Work in progress, only just started! Expect this to change! USE AT OWN RISK! Test first before you try the inserts with important exposures! Sheet film inserts for the Paterson 2 reel tank (0.6l) and the Paterson 3 reel tank (1.0l) Edit 9 May 2019, added: - DEV57_2xTaco_3reelTank__Rev.D.stl for 5x7 with better separation of film ends. - DEV45_3reelTank_G.stl, a 4x5 4 sheet for the 3 reel tank, providing more space and thus less tension for each sheet in the insert. MAJOR EDIT!! 26 March 2019: - Replaced the 2 reel insert stl´s with DEV45_2reelTank_Taco_E.STL with a longer lip in the end of the sheet to prevent the sheet from creeping out of its slot. Tested and looks good. Other 2 reel stl´s removed. - Added DEV45_5XTaco_barrel_E.STL to provide a barrel shape on the slot inside and thus a void for the fluids to reach the back of the sheets. Removed the ribs due to reports and own experience of scratches in the film sheet base on the back. Not yet tested! - change printer parameters to achieve a watertight insert body. i.e. for my Prusa MK2S 215 degrees, 4 perimeters / wall and 1.2 extruder multipliers seems right, but check your printer. Edit 23 Mar 2019; added file DEV45_4xTaco_2reelTank_rev_D.stl Redesign to a slightly longer lip to help the filmsheet remain in the slot. Tested and results look good! Edit: 20 Mar 2019; note when using the current 2 reel instert (rev B) be careful when inserting the sheet towards the center to avoid the outer part of the sheet don't unintentionally slips past the insert.. updated design are work in progress Edit: 28 Feb 2019; Added a version for DEV45 4XTaco for Stainless Steel (SS) 85mm diameter x 175mm deep tanks. Including a spacer, use one in each end. Edit:23 Feb 2019; Added DEV45_5XTacoRibs_3reelTank_E.stl file improved with ribs to allow fluids to flush film backside to remove anti-halation layer. EDIT: 20 Feb 2019; Added DEV45_5XTaco_3ReelTank_B.step CAD file. EDIT: 19 Feb 2019, added file bottom_distributor_3reeltank_revB v1.stl used to improve flowrate when filling the tank. As name implies used in the bottom of the tank, ribs up. For the 2 reel tank, fold the 4x5 sheet on the 5 inch side so the height of the folded film is 4 inches tall.Given the conical shape of the new paterson lid and the tight height clearance in the 2 reel tank a large fillet is used to provide clearance. In addition the film sheets are resting against the wall of the tank.Emulsion side in! Note when using the current 2 reel instert (rev B) be careful when inserting the sheet towards the center to avoid the outer part of the sheet don't unintentionally slips past the insert.. updated design are work in progress See the 23 Mar Edit and new file DEV45_4xTaco_2reelTank_rev_D.stl For the 3 reel tank, using 4x5 film, fold the 4x5 sheet on the 4 inch side so the height of the folded film is 5 inches tall. Emulsion side in! For the 3 reel tank, using 5x7 film, fold the 5x7 sheet on the 7 inch side so the height of the folded film is 5 inches tall. Emulsion side in! Known issue, seems like it struggles to wash away the backside anti-halation backing, could be due to my 31 years old test film :-) Will try in date film. Note: Inside should be sanded to remove any imperfections which could scratch your film. Expect to update the design to allow for constant agitation, eg. rollers. PS : Needs to be printed in the vertical direction! Comments most welcomed! send your thoughts and experience morten@kolve.org
