Device to hold and snip a long handled pruner

prusaprinters

This device is added to a long handled pruner to help hold the pruner steadily and more accurately whilst the user can close the jaws of the pruner more easily.

The device slides up the pole. The string of the pruner is attached to the integral jamming cleat on the device.

The pole can be carried and more accurately positioned using the device. When a plant is to be pruned (cut) the user slides the device towards them down the pole, the string pulls the jaws closed and the plant is pruned.

The device has some interesting features:

To help it slide along the pole four “rollers” are inserted at each end of the sliding cylinder.

A jamming cleat is incorporated into the device to hold the string firmly without needing another hand.

The device is designed to be simply printed as it has a completely flat lower surface. An extremely small amount of support material is required : this for the cleat.

The device is best manufactured in PET-G with supports on the base only and with a 15% infill.
