Been wanting to have a go at a design like this for a while, so I did! To make it you will need to print one top, bottom and catapult arm piece, and two pins. To assemble you simply slide the pins into place to form a hinge, some glue may be needed to hold them in place, I recommend gluing them to the top section of the box. Few notes I have from desiging and printing this: -The pictures I have attached are printed using CHEPs speed profile using an old filament, so the quality isn't great; but based on previous prototype designs it should come out looking a lot nicer when printed using a standard 0,2mm profile. -The catapult is very powerful and I found mine to shoot around 1-2m when fully drawing back, hence the inclusion of a backstop to limit how far back it can be drawn. Your results may vary depending on the stiffness of the filament you're using and the print settings. -I have included a recess for a 6mmØ, 2mm deep magnet to hold the box shut, it makes a nice addition but the box may hold shut on it's own as the tolerances are quite tight. -The retaining nubs (not sure if there's a better name for that) may need some sanding down to make it easier to insert and remove the catapult arm. This will depend a lot on your printer and print settings as I found some of my prototypes slide right in, whilst others required a bit of sanding. -I'd recommend printing the bottom section of the box with a higher infill, just to keep the CoG lower and stop it tipping over in use, the example shown in the photos is 40% base and 20% top. Overall it's a fun little addition to any board game night, maybe a bit more style over substance, but I hope you guys enjoy it and post some makes! If you've any questions, or require minor tweaks (small tolerance changes or the removal of the design on the top) let me know and I'll try to get them sorted.
