This is a speedometer for your bicycle - powered by an Arduino Nano.

It uses a linear Hall effect sensor mounted on the front shock absorber and a magnet mounted on the front wheel in order to count the revolutions of the wheels. Using the circumference of the wheels, it then calculates the current velocity, average velocity, and total distance traveled. For power, there are 6 rechargeable AA batteries mounted below the seat using a kryptonite bike accessory mount, and the power button is located on the side of the display module. The display is protected by a vacuum formed screen protector.

Most parts can be printed without supports, and some parts will need to be slightly modified to fit your bike. You will also need to enter the circumference of your wheel into the program to accurately record speed and distance.

The case has room for 2 more slide switches, in order to add more functionality in the future, such as multiple measurement units.

All parts printed using PLA

Other Parts:

Arduino Nano

x5 M3 Threaded Inserts

x5 M3 Bolts

6AA Battery Holder

Arduino compatible Hall Sensor

7mm Cylinder Magnet

16x2 LCD display

Vacuum Former & Material

Micro Slide Switches

Wires

Zip-Ties
