Dilophosaurus Attack!

<p>As always I will promote and REWARD the first people to post quality makes (must enable tips on your profile for reward). A quality make is a successful, complete, hopefully decent looking print at 50% scale or larger. This doesn't necessarily need painted but extra bonus if it is.</p> <p>"What are you Hungry?. So Please post your makes, hit like, and provide feedback on what you would like to see in the comments</p> <p>Dilophosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now North America during the Early Jurassic, about 193 million years ago. Length was up to 23 ft long and an estimated Mass of 880 lbs.</p> <p>Jurassic Park brought new recognition to the Dilophosaurus, being one of the coolest brought to life for the first film as well as my personal favorite. The Jurassic Park version shows a smaller version (could just be younger) that spit blinding venom, and had a frill that would unfurl when attacking, none of which are supported by the fossil record but did make a heck of a entertaining film so I am ok with it.</p> <h3> Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>PancakeBot</p> <p><p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>Yes</p> <p><p class="detail-setting resolution"><strong>Resolution: </strong> <div><p>.2mm layer height or better</p></div><strong>Infill:</strong></p> <p>15%</p> <p><strong>Filament:</strong> Prusa PLA Galaxy Black <br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong> </p><div><p>The Green Sla Print is at 30% scale and took about 4 hours in the Anycubic Photon at .05 layers with Anti-aliasing on. </p> The Head Shown is 150% scale and took around 6 hours. Printed on a mostly stock Prusa MK3S with a .6 Nozzle in Galaxy black at .15 layers but with adaptive layers maxed out on most of the top surfaces. (so about half was done at .08 or so) it took around 6 hours.</div></p> <p>For Sla Printers-I have provided a version that has already been hollowed, with drain holes, at 30% scale and supports added, It worked great with no issues, at .05 layers on the anycubic photon with Anti aliasing enabled it took about 4 hours. While it is a lot of supports the print is successful which is the main thing, and despite the supports only takes about ten minutes to trim (pre cure), Just be careful on the frills at this scale they are pretty thin and I would not recommend going much smaller in scale for this reason</p> <p>For FFM Probably best to orient this on his feet as provided to hide supports and clean up, this is a good candidate for sla with the detail level but a challenging print to clean up no matter how you do it... If requested in the comments I will work on splitting this model to be easier to print.</p> <p>Currently this is a a pretty difficult print (sorry), I am working to correct this, feel free to comment of your preferences, for example peg together, glue, many divisions ect..</p> <h3> How I Designed This</h3> <p><strong>Scanned using the Einscan SP, then altered, enhanced, modified, and optimized in Meshmixer</strong></p> <p>I can not take full credit for this design as it is heavily based off of the Mattel Jurassic World Savage Strike Dilophosaurus Figure, if you want to skip the print and own a high quality Dilo buy the Mattel Jurassic World Savage Strike Dilophosaurus Figure.</p> </p></p> Category: Creatures
