I've Ruined My Chinese "Dremel"'s Internal Triac Speed Controller. I tried to fix the issue by swapping out the triac and diode, but nothing seemed to work. In the end, I opted for an external speed controller module - I picked one up on eBay at http://www.ebay.com/itm/191019659829. To house the new module, I repurposed a spare wall outlet as the top cover. The wires were carefully bent at a 90-degree angle and secured with a nylon clip attached via a screw. You can spot this in the upper blind hole. Update May 2018: Be warned - the module caught fire when used for an extended period with my 15W glue gun. I'm still not sure why it malfunctioned, given that I'd previously used a dimmer with the same tool without any issues.
