DIRECTV to OTA TV Antenna Adapter

DIRECTV to OTA TV Antenna Adapter

After looking into ways to improve my cheap OTA TV antenna reception, I took a little time this past weekend to design and 3D print this little adapter that allows a cheap flat OTA TV antenna to be mounted in place of the original cone of an unused DirecTV satellite dish. We’ve had this old DirecTV dish just sitting up above our garage doing nothing for the past few years since we moved into this place… so I attached a cheap antenna using this custom adapter, pointed the dish towards the nearest towers, and BAM! Lots more free TV channels and much more reliable signal on the channels that I want to see the most! v1.2 was an initial prototype which allows the antenna to move around a little bit more freely. v1.3 is redesigned and has features to help keep the antenna a lot more securely attached to the 3D printed part and is smaller than v1.2. For more information on how to turn an old satellite dish into a supercharged OTA TV antenna see here (this is also one of the sources I used to come up with this idea): https://imgur.com/a/5ORVZ ***UPDATES*** 5-5-2020 Uploaded v1.3 which is smaller, and was re-designed to better retain the antenna and cable.
