Dirt Force Motorcycles stress ball lighting and texture analysis

Just a little lighting and texture study for a stress ball with my logo on it. I've described the settings I used to achieve the correct reflectivity level for the grey surface of the stress ball. Too non reflective and the ball looks like pure mat rubber, too reflective and it turns to glass. A typical foam stress ball is somewhere in between, there is some reflectivity on the surface but it's somewhat blurred and not defined. I found that by playing with the spectral spread and reflectivity options (illuminations settings in appearance tab---> I was able to get the perfect texture. I also set the surface to slightly rough in the bump mapping. Pay attention to the specs for each render and see how each adjustment item affects the overall render. Tons of fun, hope this helps. Software: SolidWorks2012, Photoview360.
