DisplayPort Dust Cover

A fast-printing plug to fit into an empty DisplayPort socket. Nothing special, just designed to print relatively easily.

You'll want to print this as oriented in the .stl, with the non-notched short edge on the build plate: this gives the print the best strength along the direction of insertion, to minimize the chances of breaking and losing any plastic inside the port.

The corresponding FreeCAD file is included. Please do not sell this model without contacting me first.

Printing

Orientation: as in the file, the “wider” short edge down

Rafts: no

Supports: no (there is a small bridge that should be doable in nearly any filament)

Infill: anything

Perimeters: 2

Perimeter generator: Arachne, if available (the narrow widths benefit a bit)

Layer height: 0.15mm - 0.3mm (the part is designed be printed at 0.3mm layers and still fit, but thinner layers can produce a smaller bridge at the top of the print)

Material: PETG (PLA has a lower melting point and would be riskier if used in an active card)
