I'm a huge fan of the brand of scifi introduced by Neil Blomkamp, and District 9 is set in my city, so I felt like I had to make this thing! This was a long in the making 3D model. I leanred a lot on what actually went wrong. There are no tabs to help glue the main body together on account of the complexiy of the mesh in Maya. After some DIY post printing I came right. Similarly, the cylinders up the side were repreinted at 98% original size to aid dry fitting with minimal sanding.
