Ditto Lamp!

Ditto Lamp!

I made this incredible Ditto lamp as a present for my nephew and thought it would be awesome to share it with the world! To make the lamp effect I used an Arduino Micro and Neopixel LED strips. I had to configure the strips to fit inside of the hollowed out Ditto lamp and glued them to the base so they were shining directly upward, then I coded the Arduino to use this super cool lighting effect where it cycles between a range of pink's and purples to give this kind of "living energy" vibe so it wasn't just static pink (which also looks cool too by the way) Arduino Instructions are below. Here are links to both the Arduino and Neopixel LED strips I used: Arduino Micro https://bit.ly/3aiOPO1 Neopixel LED Strip (you can choose any configuration) https://bit.ly/3snKS0K When you download there will be the following files: Ditto Hollow Body.obj Ditto Lamp Base.stl Ditto Face.stl Ditto Lamp - Arduino Code.txt The hollowed body model needs to be printed in some kind of white filament that has some decent translucency to it. I personally used eSUN PLA+ White and it worked perfectly! I printed this model with 100% infill because I wanted the LED's to be as diffused as possible without showing any infill pattern in between and without cause the dreaded LED hot spot look where you end up seeing where the LED's are through the print because the light is too concentrated on spots that aren't being thoroughly diffused. You can scale these files to any size you want :) Note: Print the base upside down so you don't need to use any support material! To assemble, use super glue for the face and super glue the ditto body to the base once you have your LED's mounted and you have tested them to make sure they all work. I also applied hot glue to the USB cable where it is plugged in to the Arduino to make sure it stays there. Hot glue does not have any effect on it whatsoever. Enjoy!
